Menopause is the changes a woman goes through as her body ends her reproductive period.

It must be understood that every woman will go through menopause and it is not a disease. It is the process of the ovaries slowing in function. Around the age of 51 is the expected time when a woman will start menopause. This may start earlier or later for a woman. The body changes may be minimal or extreme and depends on woman to woman. After a period has been missed for 12 straight months then it is clear evidence that menopause has ended. This should be looked on as a new rewarding phase for a woman’s life.

Perimenopause:

The source of menopause is slowing down of the ovaries, this transition is called perimenopause. Understand, it is still possible for a woman to get pregnant during perimenopause. The woman’s ovaries are still functioning properly. The Woman is still able to ovulate, however possibly not on a monthly basis. Going through Menopause will affect each woman differently. Some women will have very little health troubles while other woman may experience more extreme health issues. We advice for a woman to go see her doctor for advice and tips for going through menopause.

Period Changes:

Woman can expect changes with their menstrual periods. Those changes will vary from woman to woman. These changes includes: shorter or longer time lengths, heavier or lighter bleeding, and more or less time between each period. Understand that these changes are normal when going through menopause.

Menopause Symptoms:

  • hot flashes & night sweats
  • pain during intercourse
  • Libido
  • anxiety
  • irritability

Hot Flashes are among the most common symptoms. They commonly occur on the face and neck, then sweating and chills may follow. A hot flash will vary from woman to woman. The intensity and time lengths can last from 30 seconds to 10 minutes. It is recommended to dress in light clothes, have a hand fan, exercise regular, avoiding spicy foods, and maintain stress levels.

Menopause can be managed well if the woman is prepared. We advice for women to stay active, maintain a healthy diet, lower stress, and to regularly see your doctor of any specific advice or tips. This is a normal phase in a woman’s life and each woman should celebrate their life once they have over come Menopause.
