What is Testosterone?

Testosterone is referred to the male sex hormone. Also known as “androgen”. It is produced in the testicles in men.

  • Testosterone is responsible for hair growth, muscle mass, and deep tone of voice.  It is needed for the normal growth and development of male sex organs and for maintenance of other sexual characteristics.

Testosterone improves brain function, increases energy, improves sugar metabolism, and also prevents and improves diabetes.

  • Normal levels of this hormone provide natural immune support for an over-all being to good health, quality of life, and sex drive.

Andropause is known as male menopause. It most commonly occurs in mid-life. This condition is characterized with gradual loss of testosterone over time and can be subtle or very slow in changes.

  • Symptoms include energy loss (fatigue), depression, loss of libido, sexual dysfunction (erection problems), decreased bone density, and weight gain.

Patients should seek hormone replacement therapy for treatment.
